Do insect repellent need DEET to work?

While it’s pretty common to hear “nothing but DEET works”, that’s not what the science says. Good Riddance Insect Repellent was developed in Darwin based on the latest scientific research about mozzies and what they hate.

The proprietary essential oil blends

The Good Riddance Tropical and Good Riddance Sensitive essential oil blends were developed through an extensive research and development process in our lab. We scoured through the latest plant chemistry research to identify the most effective essential oils for repelling insects. Then, we spent countless hours trialling different blends to create two blends of oils that smell great and provide lasting protection.

We've made it a cream

There aren’t many insect repellent creams out there, but there’s a reason why we decided to do things a little differently! Our cream base is rich with shea butter and beeswax. This helps prevent the essential oils from evaporating so you don’t need to re-apply as often. It also provides a physical barrier against those pesky midges and sandflies! Independent clinical testing of our Sensitive range showed that our cream is significantly more effective at protecting against midges than DEET.
