Description

This updated favourite hands an unfair advantage to shooters who seek to keep the upper hand in every situation, from close quarters to long range shots. The illumination dial is cleanly integrated into the side focus adjustment knob for easy access and streamlined performance. The reticle offers shooters highly functional, intuitive, and detailed hold points, yet remains uncluttered for optimal viewing and features. There are 10 intensity levels with off positions between each, for a fast return to your previous setting.

EBR-4 Reticle (MOA):

Has marked reticle using MOA subtension lines and floating wind hold dots for ranging, hold over, and windage corrections.

Optical Features:

  • XR Lens Coatings - Vortex XR proprietary anti-reflection lens coatings increase light transmission with multiple coatings on all air-to-glass surfaces
  • XD Lens Elements - Extra low dispersion (XD) glass enhances resolution, colour, and contrast
  • Second Focal Plane Reticle - Scale of reticle maintains the same ideally sized appearance Listed reticle subtensions used for estimating range, hold over and wind drift correction are accurate at the highest magnification
  • Glass Etched Reticle - Protected between two layers of glass for optimum durability and reliability
  • Illuminated Reticle - Provides precise aiming under low light conditions

Construction Features:

  • 30mm Tube - Provides greater strength and wider adjustment latitude when compared to a 1 inch tube
  • One Piece Tube - Maximizes alignment for improved accuracy and optimum visual performance as well as strength and water resistance
  • Aircraft Grade Aluminium - Premium grade of aluminium, valued for fatigue resistance
  • Waterproof - O-ring seals prevent moisture, dust, and debris from getting inside the tube, ensuring reliable performance in all environments
  • Fogproof - Filled with nitrogen gas to inhibit internal fogging
  • Shockproof - Lenses are locked in place, fore and aft, with machined locking rings to remain in perfect alignment and withstand recoil and impact
  • Hard Anodized Finish - Hard coat anodization is durable; the low glare matte helps camouflage the shooter’s position
  • ArmorTek - Ultra hard, scratch resistant coating protects exterior lenses from scratches, oil and dirt
  • Tactical Style Turrets - Exposed turrets provide fast, accurate and easily read elevation and windage adjustments

Internal Mechanism Design:

  • RZR Zero Stop - Zero Stop mechanism prevents the turret from dialling below sight in range
  • Precision Force Spring System - Uses premium components in the erector spring system to ensure maximum repeatability and ease of adjustment
  • Precision Glide Erector System - Uses premium components in the zoom lens mechanism to ensure smooth magnification changes under the harshest conditions

Convenience Features:

  • Radius Bar - Fibre optic turret rotation indicator provides a highly visible and tactile point of reference for turret rotations. US Patent 7,937,879
  • Fast Focus Eyepiece - Allows quick and easy reticle focusing
  • Built In Accuracy Features - Matching MOA turrets and reticles facilitate fast and accurate shooting at extended ranges

Breakdown of MOA and MRAD:

  • MOA (Minute of Angle)
    • What it is: MOA is a unit of angular measurement that is commonly used for adjusting rifle scopes and calculating shot placement. One MOA equals 1/60th of a degree.
    • How it works: At 100 yards, 1 MOA equals approximately 1.047 inches (usually rounded to 1 inch for simplicity).
    • Usage: Scopes with MOA adjustments typically allow you to "click" the scope turrets in small increments to move the point of impact. A typical adjustment might be ¼ MOA per click, meaning each click moves the point of impact about 0.25 inches at 100 yards.
    • Why it matters: MOA is useful for fine adjustments, particularly for precision shooting at long distances.
  • MRAD (Milliradian or Mil)
    • What it is: MRAD (often just called "mil") is another unit of angular measurement. One mil is 1/1000th of a radian, and at 100 yards, 1 mil equals 3.6 inches.
    • How it works: Scopes with MRAD adjustments allow you to click in mil increments (often 0.1 mil per click), which corresponds to moving the point of impact by 0.36 inches at 100 yards.
    • Usage: Like MOA, MRAD is used for adjusting windage and elevation on scopes. It’s more common in military and long-range precision shooting.
    • Why it matters: MRAD is often preferred for its simpler math (1 mil at 100 yards is 3.6 inches, at 1000 yards, it’s 36 inches).
