Description

Ocean Signal rescueME PLB1 Personal Locator Beacon

Wherever your adventures take you — at sea, on land, or off the grid — the Ocean Signal rescueME PLB1 ensures that help is just one button press away. Compact, lightweight, and incredibly reliable, this personal locator beacon connects you directly to global emergency services through the Cospas-Sarsat satellite network, with no subscription or usage fees.

Designed for simplicity and peace of mind, the rescueME PLB1 can be operated with one hand — even in the toughest conditions. A spring-loaded flap protects the activation button to prevent accidental use, while its retractable antenna and compact design make it easy to attach to a lifejacket or belt.

Key Features

  • 30% Smaller (typical) — one of the most compact PLBs on the market

  • Lightweight & Portable — easily fits to a lifejacket* or gear

  • 7-Year Battery Life — long-lasting reliability

  • 24+ Hour Operational Life — continuous distress transmission after activation

  • High-Brightness Strobe Light (>1 candela) for visibility during rescue

  • 66-Channel GPS Receiver — fast and accurate location tracking

  • Operates on the Global Cospas-Sarsat System — no subscription or usage fees

  • Retractable Antenna & Unique Mounting Clip — easy to deploy and carry

  • Free to Use Worldwide — government-funded global rescue network

How It Works

When activated, the rescueME PLB1 transmits your GPS location and unique ID to a Rescue Coordination Centre via satellite. Local rescue services are immediately notified and updated with your position, ensuring the fastest possible response time.

Registration is simple — contact your national registration authority (online, by post, or email) and provide your 15-digit HEX ID (UIN) along with your contact and emergency details. This ensures your beacon is linked to your personal information in the International Beacon Registration Database (IBRD) for an efficient rescue response.
